Spring is coming very soon and with warmer weather comes spring cleaning and home improvements. One thing that I have been gradually doing and will 
continue to do with my spring cleaning is replacing my light bulbs with their energy saving counterparts. To meet the need of consumers like myself, Sylvania brand has come out with a new energy saving light bulb. The Sylvania Supersaver Halogen Light bulb is a new type of light bulb that saves energy without compromising the quality of the light in your home.
Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007
In just four short years our normal incandescent light bulbs will be no more due to the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. They are slowly phasing out our traditional power-hungry light bulbs in favor of the energy saving bulbs. The Sylvania Super Saver Halogen bulbs meet the requirements of this act.
*My Review*
I have tried the other energy saving fluorescent bulbs and while they do an okay job, they have an ugly shape that is not appealing to me at all. These new Super Saver Light Bulbs are mercury free fully dimmable. They come in several different wattages:
~28 watt (40 watt replacement)
~43 watt (60 watt replacement)
~72 watt (100 watt replacement)
~and in a variety of flood lights with varying wattages
I received the 60W replacement bulb and it has a 28% energy savings. I like the light bulbs and appreciate the quality of light I receive. It is a nice crisp light that doesn’t strain my eyes. The shape is more like the common light bulb I am used to. I am a bit disappointed that one of the bulbs I received wasn’t completely coated inside but I suspect that could have happened during shipment. Overall I would recommend the new Sylvania Super Saver Halogen Light Bulbs.
