Beauty Tips

by Andrea on November 11, 2009

As you may have noticed I have had the Beauty Tips widget on my sidebar for some time now. I wanted to share with you some of my favorite tips from the widget.

  • Loose, wavy hair is a hot trend. To create the laid back style of loose waves; disperse Dove Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse through hair and braid into sections. When hair is dry, undo the braids and finger comb through it for a free, effortless look.
  • Getting home late from the party and too tired for your normal makeup removal routine? Stash Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelette in your bedside table for fast and easy makeup removal…you don’t even need water.  They have an exclusive cleansing system, with oil- and dirt-trapping fibers, that works like a magnet to remove up to 40 percent more make-up than other leading towelettes to keep you looking your best. I love these towelettes!
  • Each time you shave you remove 20% of your underarm skin, exposing new, delicate skin that needs extra TLC to look and feel good. Dove Ultimate deodorants include Dove 1/4 Translucent Moisturizers™ to help put back what shaving takes away. I love the Dove Ultimate deodorant, it works well, smells great and leaves my skin soft and smooth.
  • For unruly eyebrows, repeated applications of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly will tame and train them.  It adds sheen to the eyelids and is soothing to surrounding skin after tweezing. Petroleum Jelly is so versatile. It aslo works well as a conditioner for your eyelashes.
  • Blemishes are bound to happen. To help quickly heal and hide them, use a Q-tips® cotton swab.  Moisten one end of your Q-tips® cotton swab with an alcohol-free astringent and lightly dab on to the blemish.  Use the other end of your Q-tips® cotton swab as a makeup applicator to apply an oil-free concealer to keep the blemish under wraps! Witch Hazel is a great astringent that is inexpensive and good for your skin too!

Do you have any beauty tips to share? I would love to hear them!

I love your tips–they’re great!

I love Aquaphor–it’s great for winter on my hands, feet and even my lips. A little goes a long way, too!

Also I let my hair air dry for quite awhile–then I’ll blow dry very quickly and it’s a lot easier to straighten my hair :)

I really like the Pond’s wipes. I keep some on hand. My tip – exfoliating often. It keeps your skin fresh!

Great tips! I love those towelettes too. They are so quick and easy when I’m exhausted at the end of the day.

Thank you for the tips they are really helpful. I use Mineral Basics make up because I have oily skin and it seems to work a bit better for me and keeps my face from getting oily mid day.
