I really don’t enjoy writing negative posts but in this case I feel like it is warranted. I was approached by someone to review Totsy which is an online shopping site for babies and children. The site has sales for different companies that last only a short amount of time. I was given a $50 credit to shop the site and give my honest feedback.
First of all, it took me a couple of emails back and forth with the person who invited me to do the review before the $50 credit was put into my Totsy account. That really wasn’t a big deal and it was not the fault of my contact but rather the fault of the higher powers at Totsy.
I waited until they had a sale with a company that I was interested in purchasing from. I found three pairs of shorts that I thought my son would look cute in and I ordered them. I placed my order on March 29th in the evening. I made the mistake of ordering two of the shorts in the wrong size. THIS WAS MY MISTAKE and NO FAULT OF TOTSY. However I immediately emailed Totsy’s customer service department to see if they could fix my order. I never heard back from them.
In the meantime, I waited patiently for my order to arrive. I waited and waited and waited. Keep in mind that I placed my order on March 29th. I finally received a confirmation that my order had shipped around the first of May. My order arrived on May 6th. I received exactly what I ordered.
I contacted the person who asked me to write the review to let her know how long it took for me to receive my order and also that I had contacted customer service and never heard back. She contacted the higher powers at Totsy for me and on May 10th I received an email from Totsy’s customer service director. This is the first email I received:
I was just informed that you were not satisfied with your experience with Totsy.
I understand that you had ordered the wrong sizes and were never contacted back after you emailed us.
We had experienced issues with our contact us emails and were not receiving any for quite some time.
Can you please, let me know what your order number was so that I can look into this matter further.
I apologize for this situation and hope to hear from you soon.
I emailed him back with my order number immediately. The next day (May 11th) I received this follow up email:
Thank you for your reply.
I am looking into this and will get back to you soon.
I have NOT heard anything from Totsy since May 11th! I can understand that they had email issues. I just cannot understand the time it took for me to receive my order. A simple email from their customer service department stating that the order was going to take a while would have been greatly appreciated.
With all the competition among online retailers customer service is of utmost importance. I am sad that I had such a bad experience with Totsy. They do have some nice sales. Overall, I am very disappointed in Totsy’s customer service and the time it took for me to receive my order. I would NOT recommend Totsy to anyone.
